Kuala Lumpur

This time when I went to KL I managed to visit the city as well. It is very different then Singapore, and as I have previously written, it is pretty much like Bucharest. At least the feeling when you walk on the streets. Not the downtown streets though. Downtown KL is much nicer then Bucharest.

Petronas Tower:
This is the world's highest twin-tower. It is not that impressive from the pictures, but it is just amazing if you look at it when you stand in front of it, or from distance. It is very very beautiful and makes you feel that everything is possible. If you are in Malaysia, it is a must see :):):)

Downtown KL is very modern and very beautiful. It is very relaxing to just walk around. Of course can be extremely hot :) The other very important thing to visit in KL is the Menara Tower, or KL Tower. It is the 4th highest tower in the world, and it is pretty impressive. Majestically poised at a breathtaking height of 421 metres, the Tower doubles as KL's best known ambassador. The view is just stunning. You can see the whole KL from above. This is downtown KL and the Petronas tower viewed from the Menara Tower:These swimming pools on the roof of the hotels are pretty cool :)

I like in KL how they managed to build very modern buildings but still incorporating the Muslim world's elements in most of the big and important buildings. The mosque with the blue roof is the national mosque, it is very nice :) The white building in front is the Islam museum if I remember it correctly.

The lake garden in KL is quite nice, good for a walk to escape from the noise of the city. It has a very nice bird park and you can see a lot of nice things. Still Singapore Zoo is my favourite :):):)Some parts of Malaysia can be very conservative, as an influence from the religion. For example you would be in a lot of trouble if you would be caught by police in a car with a Muslim women (if you are a white man). And you would not want to be caught in a park (or anywhere) kissing a women or with your pants down.... But at least they warn you:) This is the sign at the entrance in the lake garden:

If I would want to describe KL, I would choose the picture below. It describes KL in a very good way. Very modern and very progressive in terms of economics, and the economy is opening more and more. However the society is very much influenced and controlled by religion and tradition, which influences all aspects of life. It is a very good example that market economy/democracy does not necessarily means free government, separation of religion and governance. US (and not only) should bare this in mind whenever deals with these countries, Malaysia is a very good example for this.

Inside the National Mosque:Another nice picture of KL and its impressive architecture:

Was randomly walking on the streets of KL when I bumped in this building (on the picture below). This reminded me of my previous visit in KL, stopping over in the way to Langkawi, when in the middle of the night I was looking for a cheap hotel, after some interesting adventures... This was one of the places the taxi driver took us that night.... I realised that a piece of me will be always in KL.

I enjoyed KL. It is a nice place, a lot of things to see if you are a first time visitor there. I am not sure when I will go again. However I have a feeling that I will return there sometimes.

Faith is the gift of GOD!

This is one of the phrases I always remember when things go wrong, or not as I have expected them. I ask why things happen the way they happen, why some things are difficult to achieve. Sometimes I think that God was not good to me, or negative karma is influencing my life. And then I always remember that faith is a gift of GOD and I need to believe that things will be all right. Or that we can influence our future if we do positive things today. The famous " Everything will be all right, no worries/O sa fie bine.../Majd lesz valahogy... " for those who know me well...

Today I felt again for a moment that there are clouds on the sky, but remembering that faith is a gift of God, I realised that maybe a good rain will help to have a better harvest for the autumn.

High

Friday morning…. Waking up at six and thinking about the big questions of life till 6:30….. No answer found at 6:30 therefore the mind is switching to the small questions of life… task lists… discussions… agenda… M:i:III…M:i:III…. and M:i:III again…. and the rushing starts…at the end of the day we are accepting impossible missions daily…. And I have to make my own movie as well…. Phone call at 6: 38… inbox flooded in 8 hours.... one reason to put the music loud after the call and get to the shower….it is warm outside…. Pleasant… not like in the bus…freezing in the bus…. I hate aircons… already thinking of the warm tea in the office….and bang…. The music in my ears…. Lighthouse family: High …..and the world stops for a second…. I see myself in the movie…. My movie…. Very light…. Very confident….. calm…. Very calm…. And I smile to the people…. Even the elevator is faster today…. Even my computer is faster today…. I am flying…. Been to thousands of places and it took me only one song…. I decided to be happy today and smile the whole day!!! Today I am high!!!

Into Buddhism...

An idea I learned today: If shit happens, the sooner you can turn it into compost the better.

It is a very interesting way to describe how you tranform negative things into positive. There is something in this buddhism that worths understanding better...
